Planning guide

What to include on a anniversary party website.

  • The milestone

Twenty-fifth, fortieth, fiftieth: say which anniversary and the year they married. It frames the whole event.

  • A short history

Where they met, the wedding, the places they have lived. A few lines works better than a long biography.

  • Hosts

Anniversary parties are often thrown by children or close friends. Name them so guests know who to contact.

  • Gift guidance

Many couples prefer no gifts. A popular alternative is asking guests to bring a favorite memory or photo.

  • Surprise or not

If it is a surprise, say so clearly and give an arrival time before the couple arrives.

  • Photos through the years

Ask family for old photos ahead of time and mention that a slideshow or photo table is planned. Guests often bring their own prints once they know.

Sample schedule

How the day could run.

Questions, answered

Anniversary party website FAQ.

Which anniversaries are usually celebrated with a party?

The 25th, 40th, 50th, and 60th are the most common, but any anniversary that feels meaningful is worth celebrating.

Can relatives who are not online reply?

Most relatives can open a link on a phone or tablet, and there is no account to create. For anyone who would rather call, the hosts can take their reply by phone.

What does publishing cost?

Drafting comes first. Publishing costs $20 once for a year, with no subscription.

Should an anniversary party be a surprise?

Only if the couple enjoys surprises. For most milestone anniversaries, telling the couple lets them invite old friends you might not know about and enjoy the anticipation.
